Colourpop Cosmetics nailed the formula in their 2015 Fall Collection of Ultra Matte Liquid Lipsticks.  While the old formula was drying and uncomfortable, the current formula is smooth and long wearing.  I selected three shades any woman should have for the holiday season.

Firstly, Colourpop listened to the concerns of their customers and improved the formula for the current collection.  I purchased eight of the original Colourpop liquid lipsticks when they launched in Spring 2015.  They were very drying to the lips and required a lip moisturizer or lip balm placement prior to wearing.  The other major concern of the line was that the fairer shades applied spotty.  Luckily, I did not purchase the lighter shades from the collection.  Fast forward to Fall 2015 and I noticed these are very different.   I do not need lip balm to wear the lipsticks comfortably.  The current formula is non-sticky, does not smudge off and is long wearing.

The shades that I adore for the season are More Better, a deep violet wine,  Dr. M, a deep blackened green and Be-dazzled, a deep true purple.

More Better

More Better is the perfect fall shade.  I am in love with this reddish, wine matte lip color. And  it’s flattering on all skin tones.

Dr. M

Dr. M is giving me an edgy, going out clubbing vibe, as if I still did that kind of thing.  But it reminds me of when I did live that life.  Even though it’s a matte green, it’s not flat at all.  They added a metallic sheen to the lippie which gives off a gorgeous iridescent hue and ultimately makes this pop like no other matte green that I’ve come across.

Be-dazzled

Be-dazzled is one of my all time favorite purple shades. It is stunning on deeper skin tones.   I prefer this one over the deep blackened purple Guess which was too flat on my skin tone.  Be-dazzled reminds me of a ripe purple grape.  It’s simply stunning.
