MAC launched a new foundation last week, MAC Pro Longwear Nourishing Waterproof Foundation. I purchased it from http://www.maccosmetics.com and tried it out yesterday. MAC claims the new foundation is waterproof and can be used as a foundation or concealer. It also claims to “last an unprecedented 16 hours”.
The first thing I noticed about the new foundation is the packaging. It’s small. The tube size is 0.84 fl. oz. or 25 ml. and cost $ 32. It comes in 16 shades. MAC claims “the formula blends seamlessly on the skin with medium to full weightless coverage and a natural satin finish”.
As for the waterproof feature, MAC says “neither rain nor tears can budge this”
So here’s my first impressions of the foundation after wearing it for 14 hours. This is the best foundation I have tried from MAC. It is definitely long lasting. The foundation didn’t budge during the day and my coverage was the same from 7:30 am to 10:00 pm. I didn’t cry any tears to test the waterproof feature, but by chance, experienced some mild sweating from a faulty air conditioner. Surprisingly, it didn’t budge from that either.
It blended seamlessly and provided full coverage. It’s very light weight, creamy and provides a very natural satin finish. My skin was slightly shiny at the end of the day, however I did not set the foundation with any powder – that is my preference. I have normal to dry skin. MAC suggest using the “Pro Longwear Pressed Powder for a wet proof velvety matte finish”.
MAC is offering this new foundation in 14 shades.
My final thoughts of the MAC Pro Longwear Nourishing Waterproof foundation is that it’s a very good for someone with natural to dry skin. If girls with oily skin who truly desire a matte finish or someone who really wants to test the “waterproof” claims, I strongly suggest setting the foundation with MAC’s Pro Longwear Pressed Powder. It provides great coverage and looks natural. It’s definitely a foundation to try out.
